Leisure centre closed after ‘incident’ as emergency service in attendance

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue posted online to warn residents that the Blackbird Leys Leisure Centre in Pegasus Road has closed and will remain closed for the rest of the weekend.

The fire and rescue service stated that there is an ‘incident’ the team has been dealing with.

They stated that two fire appliances and one specialist unit have been on site but are due to leave soon.

Writing online, they said: “We have been dealing with an incident, at Blackbird Leys Leisure centre which is currently closed and remaining closed for the rest of the day.

“We have had two fire appliances and one specialist unit on site which will be leaving shortly.”
