Missing man who police were ‘extremely concerned’ for found safely

William, 66, had been missing from Oxford since Thursday, March 6.

Following this, Thames Valley Police launched a public appeal to help locate William, whose surname had not been disclosed.

Yesterday afternoon (March 8), Thames Valley Police confirmed that he was seen at around 5pm on Friday, March 7, in the St Giles area, but continued to appeal for help in locating him.

Yesterday evening, the force confirmed that William had been found safely.

A spokesperson said: “Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal to find 66-year-old William.”

Police guidance on missing people states it is not wasting officers’ time to report someone as missing.
