Several killed as wild storm rips through US triggering risk of tornadoes

At least 17 people were killed and scores of homes destroyed as wild winds whipped up a giant storm across parts of the US that intensified as it moved into the Mississippi Valley and Deep South on Saturday and triggered the threat of violent tornadoes in its wake.
